"Wow! I was dubious on reading some of the other reviews, but we really needed a new heater for a sun room so I ordered a unit. Considering that there is NO insulation and single-pane glass surrounding the room, and it’s really NICE out there now! Wow! "C. Ferrisi may not quite understand what PTC is. I looked it up. "Positive temperature co-efficient – PTC heating elements are small ceramic stones with self temperature limiting characteristics. PTC stones have fast heating response times and plateau once the pre-defined reference temperature is reached." The infrared lights produce the heat. This type of heating is how you can heat a large area without creating a huge electric bill. "I use the heater in my bedroom and family room. My bedroom is about 400 Sq. Ft. and it heats it up no problem. One night I feel asleep with it on high and woke up because it was too hot in the room. I also use the heater in my family room, but my family room is really open. It can’t heat the whole open area, but it definitely takes the chill off. I usually run them around 70 degrees. Recommend to turn it on in your bedroom a half hour to an hour before you plan on staying there. I purchased two of these products.
